Prof Moments: Surprising Things About College Teachers

1. Hindi Lahat Terror – Minsan Mas Chill pa kaysa SHS Teachers     Back then, I thought the professors were scary — ‘yung tipo na hindi mo malapitan. But eventually, I realized that most of them are approachable and even funny!

Not all scary-looking professors are strict. Sometimes, they just look serious, pero deep inside they care more than you expect. First impressions don't always show the whole story.

2. They Don't Spoon-feed You – Pero Tutulong Kung Talagang Gusto Mong Matuto     Sa SHS, sanay kami na may laging guide, reminders, at pa-check ng output kada step. Still, kapag nakita ng prof na you're putting in effort, tutulungan ka talaga.

College teaches you how to stand on your own, pero hindi ibig sabihin na mag-isa ka. When profs see that you're trying, they’ll meet you halfway — you just have to show them you're willing to learn.

Professors are human too — some love to share kwentos, and honestly, those small talks sometimes lighten the mood. Pero sana balance, kasi we're still here to learn, hindi lang tumawa.

4. May Soft Side Din Sila – Especially Pag Alam Nilang Struggling Ka
Yes, they expect a lot. That small act really stuck with me.

Behind the deadlines and lectures, may puso rin sila. You’ll be surprised how kind they can be, lalo na kapag alam nilang you're going through something.

5. Mahilig Sila sa Surprises – Quizzes, Group Works, or Life Lessons
Laging handa sa surprise quiz, biglaang group work, or pop recitation.

Sometimes the biggest lessons aren’t even academic — it’s about resilience, teamwork, and learning how to adapt.

College is a roller coaster — and your professors are part of that ride. But one thing’s for sure: you’ll learn so much more than just debits and credits. So keep showing up, keep learning, and keep your heart open — kasi minsan, sa pinaka-unexpected na prof mo pa matutunan ang biggest lesson mo.

• Huwag Matakot Magtanong o Lumapit. Asking questions means you want to learn.

Final Note:

Kaya sa mga incoming BSA students: be open. Expect the unexpected. And most of all, wag matakot lumapit sa profs – they were students once too.

From confusion to confidence — one freshie moment at a time!
